Ceremony & Venue Information

PhD, MFA and Medical Degree Candidates Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 11 at 5:30 pm at the Kohl Center. The ceremony is expected to last approximately 2 hours.

Bachelor’s, Law and Master’s Degree Candidates Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 12, noon at Camp Randall Stadium. The ceremony is expected to last approximately 75 minutes.

Two commencement ceremonies will be held in Spring 2018. No tickets are required for either ceremony and there is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may bring. All commencement events will be fully accessible. A full list of accessible accommodations for each location can be found on our accessibility page. Friday, May 11, 5:30 p.m., Kohl Center

Ceremony for Doctoral, MFA and Medical Professional Degree Candidates

Doors open two hours before the start of the ceremony. Guests should be aware of the carry-in policy and allow time for security screening. The ceremony is expected to last approximately two hours. Candidates will cross the stage, have their name read and receive their diploma cover. The Kohl Center ceremony will include the following degree programs:

Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Musical Arts, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Audiology, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Fine Arts, Master of Genetic Counselor Studies, Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Public Health and Master of Comparative Biomedical Sciences.

Saturday, May 12, Noon, Camp Randall Stadium

Ceremony for Bachelor’s, Law and Master’s Degree Candidates

Doors open two hours before the start of the ceremony. Guests should be aware of the carry-in policy. The ceremony is expected to last approximately 75 minutes and will include the following degree programs:

Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Social Work, Doctor of Juridical Science, Juris Doctor, Master of Accountancy, Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering, Master of International Public Affairs, Master of Laws, Master of Laws—Legal Institutions, Master of Music, Master of Professional French Studies, Master of Public Affairs, Master of Science and Master of Social Work
